Who is Dï-An?

Dï-An, a young artist living in Brussels, performing on various stages with her solo show accompanied by different talented musicians. Di-an was born and grew up in Denmark. She had to fight every day in order to figure out what she really wanted in life. At a very young age, it became evident that singing was her destiny. Dï-An was born blind and she constantly had to struggle to manage in a world of sighted people who kept telling her all the things she couldn’t do – there was always a barrier, always an obstacle. “You can’t play football, You can’t be a girl scout, because you are gonna be a burden for the others.”

At one time, she was even told that she couldn’t join a choir, because she couldn’t see the conductor’s movements. When the other girls started to play with clothes and makeup, she felt stupid because she had no idea how to work with colours. She was told that she couldn’t dance. Her happiest moments she spent in her room singing and expressing every feeling through her own songs.
